It's the end of July, and can you believe we are just now taking our first trip to the lake for the summer?? Last summer, it seemed we were there almost every weekend, but this summer has been quite different. This past weekend we finally went, and for good reason, too...to spend some time with the Chambless family.
We had such a wonderful time with family we don't get to see near enough of. They all drove 3+ hours to get there, when our drive over was just a nice, short 20 minutes. Somehow we got the good end of that deal. I think we would all say it was well worth it though.
The boys fished, and the girls socialized. We never run out of things to talk about and catch up on...all while getting a little sun on the dock.
There were some really great catches made by the boys (talking about fish here, not us girls!). Some had to be thrown back because of the rules of the lake, but that didn't stop a quick photo opp here and there.
Ok, so definitely not Mr. Ritch and James Patrick's best catches for the weekend, but I couldn't resist!
You know we couldn't leave sweet Puddin at home. This girl loves the lake. She thinks the bobber in the water is a toy that she should swim to get. It's an up hill battle trying to get her to stay on the dock. She's also not afraid of a fish or two, either.
Sadie Beth was partial to the boys, including Chams. I'm still a little jealous about it. It just made Chams' day that she let him hold her, and eventually put her to sleep. I can see why. Somehow the weekend got away with not one picture of the other girlies...Sarah, Mary Grace, Ruth, Hope and Faith. They were all there though, and having a wonderful time!
Overall, it was a great first weekend at the lake for the summer. It was so fun to get away with family and make some long-lasting memories!
