firsts...

As we approach the 1/2 year mark, there are several firsts we need to catch up on...some better than others.

Just last week, sweet Chams, jr. decided that he could sit up by himself with no support.

It doesn't last but for a couple of minutes but hey, it's progress!

Since sitting up was getting better, we broke out the high-chair/buggy cover and decided to give it a run.

It's official...we've graduated.  Going to the grocery and out to eat just got easier.

We also had our first play date to the Botanical Gardens.

Thanks to Char for packing the blocks!

It was such a wonderful time with the college girls, A and T, and their sweet girls.

The Gardens is a perfect place to spend a cool morning...and huge plus, it's free!

But, pack your skeeter spray.  You can't escape them!

In other firsts news, Chams felt it was time for Chams, jr. to be introduced to the 4 wheeler.  I thought that could wait for 6+ more months, but apparently not.  According to Chams, the neighbors thought it was super cute.  I'm glad they thought so.

I made him wear his shades just in case the bugs were bad.  I obviously felt the need to protect him, even if it was just from bugs.

We also had our first (and prayerfully only) trip to Children's.  Our sweet Chams, jr. had a horrific reaction to soy formula, which turns out to be a milk-protein allergy.  Poor little guy was lethargic and pitiful.

This picture makes my heart hurt.

Thankfully with some liquids and rest, he was back to his normal self.

Children's is not the place to be, but they do have some pretty sweet nurses...and wagons.

So, this girl will be a moo-cow for a little while longer, and hopefully this stuff will help me keep moo-ing.

To make things oh-so better, Uncle Brew, Aunt S and Cubbie came to stay at the Ranch to escape Isaac.  Cubbie and Chams, jr. had fun spending a little time together...

They're both growing up too quick.

Happy Firsts!!
